Who we are

This website at www.luminadesignbuild.co.uk is run by Lumina Designed, a design and build business working across the United Kingdom. You can reach us by telephone on 07368 632199 or by email at info@luminadesignbuild.co.uk, or through the contact page.

What this website is for

The site describes the design and build work we do and shows rooms we have finished. It is here so that you can decide whether to contact us. Nothing on it is an offer to carry out work, and no contract is formed by reading it, sending the enquiry form, or calling us. Work is agreed in writing, project by project, on terms we send you first.

The photographs and the words

The photographs on the portfolio and project pages show our own projects. Where a photograph elsewhere on the site illustrates a type of room or a finish rather than a named project, it is our own or is used with permission. The photographs, the text and the wordmark are ours, or are used with permission. You may look at them, link to this site and share a page with someone who might use us. You may not copy the photographs or the text for any other purpose without asking us first.

The guides in the journal

The journal explains, in general terms, how things like planning permission, building regulations, the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 and permitted development work in England. It is written to help you understand a project, not as legal, planning, surveying or financial advice, and it does not take account of your property or your circumstances. Rules change, local authorities apply them differently, and some areas (conservation areas, listed buildings, flats, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) have different rules. Before you rely on any of it, check with your local planning authority, a building control body or a suitably qualified professional. Each guide names the sources it was checked against and the date it was last reviewed.

Accuracy

We keep the site accurate and we correct it when we find a mistake. Even so, the site is a description, not a specification: what we can build for you depends on your site, your brief and the drawings we agree, and those take precedence over anything written here.

Links to other websites

Links to WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, the government and Planning Portal pages cited in the journal, and any other site are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what is on them.

Our responsibility to you

We do not exclude or limit any liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Beyond that, we are not responsible for loss that arises from relying on the site instead of on the written terms of a project, or from the site being unavailable for a time.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own law.
