Interior fit-out

The mirror lounge.

A wall of mirror that floats off gold leaf, and a chandelier returned in every panel.

Bevelled bronze mirror panels set at staggered heights and lit from behind, on a wall of gold leaf over plaster, under a chandelier of crystal drops, above a cream sofa.
Close on the mirror wall: the bevelled edges of the bronze panels and the light behind them, with the chandelier caught in the glass.
The lounge from the corner: the mirror wall, the chandelier of crystal drops, strands of crystal hung at the window and the cream sofa below.

About the project

Mirror, gold leaf and crystal.

Each panel is lit from behind, so the wall reads as light before it reads as mirror.

Bronze-tinted mirror panels, bevelled and set at staggered heights, are mounted off the wall and lit from behind, so each one floats on a halo against gold leaf laid over plaster. A chandelier of crystal drops hangs in front of them and is returned many times over in the glass.

Strands of crystal hang at the window and catch the same light. Below the wall, a deep sofa in cream with cushions in the same tone, so nothing competes with the wall.

The mirror lounge is a residential interior by Lumina Designed, a UK design and build studio: a feature wall of backlit bevelled mirror on gold leaf, drawn, priced and fitted by one team. Living rooms, lounges and reception rooms are taken on the same way, from the first drawing to the last light fitting.
